Sacred Authority is the Rebecca Project's leadership network of mothers who completed comprehensive treatment and are stabilized in their recovery. Sacred Authority mothers advocate for the needs of other families addressing drug addiction issues. Their work focuses on bridging the wide divide between Congress, policymakers, and the real lives of low-income families with substance abuse issues. Sacred Authority mothers bridge the divide through meetings, hearings and educational briefings with Congressional staffers and national policymakers on the issues of poverty, substance abuse, and recovery. The mothers present, in their own words, the uncontested truth of their own experiences and offer policy recommendations.
